Jelly Gelly Jellyfish!! Jellyfish-making workshop for kids!
Location: ChildLife Playroom, 3JCWest, UIHC
Target Audience: Intimate Setting, Free and open for patients through ChildLife, patients' family members and visitors.
Let's imagine our own jellyfish species with Jellyfish Specialist Sayuri!!! In this workshop, we will be both scientists and artists! First, we will survey different types of jellies that reside in this world, and later imagine our own species of jellyfish.
In the second half of this workshop, we will be making 2 jellyfish out of different materials... Yarn, scraps of fabric, pipe cleaners, coffee filters, you name it! One will go into the Possibility Tank in the Fountain Lobby to be mingled together with the other jellyfish that participants of various workshops in and around the hospital made, another to take with you.
This workshop is a part of Sayuri's Mind Travelers' Aquarium project, on exhibit at the Fountain Lobby, UIHC from Sept 6 - Nov 25.
Sayuri Sasaki Hemann is a self-proclaimed Jellyfish Specialist as well as a multi-disciplinary artist based in Iowa City, IA. She is excited to share her love of this mesmerizing creature with you!!
